Omar is right, separatists are not
Attack on Pampore's EDI
10/11/2016 10:43:05 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 11: NC working president, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who remained behind the curtain after the Indian Army's successful surgical strikes across the LoC and within PoJK, which is Indian, on Monday again took to social networking site twitter.com and sent out one very positive tweet. The tweet was on the second terror attack on the Pampore's Entreprene-urship Development Institute (EDI), in which one of the sons of Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin also works.
Omar Abdullah, who has a very soft corner for separatists of all hues, on Monday couldn't swallow the attack on the EDI and lambasted the Kashmiri separatists, saying this institute only trained the Kashmiri youth to stand on their own feet and become self-reliant. "No wonder for the 2nd time this year they have attacked the institute. They want young Kashmiris to be subservient and bitter not self-reliant," his tweet read.
Omar Abdullah did the right thing by mustering courage to take on separatists and side with the Kashmiri youth, who really wanted to stand on their feet and become self-reliant.
This huge building had also been attacked in February this year but it didn't suffer much damage. But theMonday attack on the seven-storey building was of a different nature and the army, CRPF and the police had to take recourse to extraordinary means to corner the 2 to 3 terrorists who occupied the building to play some big mischief. The gun-battle which broke out in the early morning left one Army jawan and one policeman injured.
As the army, the CRPF and the police were determined to either liquidate or capture alive the terrorists, they used sophisticated methods to pressurize them to come out of the building and surrender failing which they would be left with no other option but to blast the whole structure - a process which was started in the evening. They are using even rockets. The counterattack set on fire a big portion of the building. It is obvious that the structure has suffered huge, huge damage. It would take time for the authorities to make it livable and workable. Which means the students will not be able to undergo or complete the training for months.
Omar Abdullah only highlight this point and very effectively and in an unambiguous manner. It is hoped that he would play positive role in future as well and discard his politics of autonomy and Pakistan. Such a politics would only bring more destruction to the Valley and further embitter the already rather bitter relations between Kashmir and Jammuand between Kashmir and Ladakh.
