Jammu, Oct 15: In continuation to the drive against drug menace under operation "Sanjeevani" launched by Sunil Gupta, SSP Jammu aimed to eliminate the problem of narcotics from District Jammu, police today busted inter district four narcotics smuggler gang with apprehension of four persons alongwith 2 kgs narcotic like substance (Mentrax). "Acting on specific information during intervening night of 14/15, Bahu Fort Police headed by SHO Bahu Fort, Inspector Bharat Sharma raised a naka at Railway Morh near Petrol Pump and intercepted one Maruti Car driven by one Wasim Ahmed, police spokesperson said. He said, "On search of the vehicle, police team recovered around 2 Kgs of narcotic like substance (Mentrax) from the possession of four occupants including driver and three others." "The contraband was seized while the accused persons were arrested," spokesperson said. On this, a case under FIR No.211/2016 under section 8/21/22/60 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act has been registered at Bahu Fort police station. Further investigation of the case is going on to ascertain the sources, destination of consignment and other associates of the arrested.
