89% of target population covered under Aadhaar

Jammu, Oct 16: District Development Commissioner, Kathua Ramesh Kumar convened a meeting to review the progress of ongoing Aadhar enrollment work across the district. The meeting discussed in detail about the Aadhar seeding of beneficiaries covered under schemes like National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), marriage Assistance Scheme, NFSA, MMSFES, PAY, MGNREGA (job card holders) and other related initiatives. DDC directed the concerned agency to put in place requisite machinery and manpower so that target of the enrollment can be achieved within stipulated time. He also directed the vendor to provide E.B tracker facility to trace those left out families who are still not enrolled. The DDC directed ACD Sunil Kumar to ensure cent percent enrollment in their respective areas and to take progress figure from respective Block Development Officer's besides educating people about the schedule of enrollment camps.
The DDC while emphasizing on the universal coverage under Aadhar said that it is very important to link bank accounts of students and beneficiaries of various schemes with Aadhar numbers for the effective and transparent implementation of the schemes. He also took review of the progress of enrollment during special enrollment camps organized in schools to ensure 100% enrollment of school students. He directed CEO Kathua to provide necessary logistic support to catch up with the cut off date of enrolment i.e 31 October 2016.. Earlier, DSEO Kathua Vyas Raj, informed the meeting that the district has the target of 5,58,435 souls as per target digitalized population , out of which 4.98 lakh has been achieved so far as per ECIL report thus registering a achievement of 89%.
The DDC directed Tehsildars to personally monitor the progress and maintain record of enrollment figure on daily basis. He also called upon the Tehsildars to plan out their enrolment camps so that no family shall be left out.
