National Conference Minority Cell protest for migrants' right

Jammu, Oct, 17: A joint mass protest demonstration was held here at Relief and Rehabilitation office migrants by National Conference Minority Cell under the leaderip of its president M.K. Yogi.
The mass protest was against the non-availability of ration for last three months, dictatorial approach of Zonal and Central Office-officials of Relief Organization and dilly- dally tactics of day to day affair of the migrants, such as inclusion, bifurcation, State Subject certificate etc.
It was alleged that the migrants are being harassed every now and then in the pretext of its paper or that by newly appointed staff at Relief Office. When these unnecessary harassments were taken to higher ups in the Government only assurance were given and nothing concrete was done on the ground. Thus we presume that this a failed government and migrant cannot expect anything from this coalition government.
The protesters were very much angry over the non availability of ration for last three months.
Yogi said that most of the families are at the verge of starvation due to non availability of ration for last three months which is grass violation of basic human rights of poor displaced migrants.
The properties urged upon the authorities to not test the patience of displaced people and ration must be distributed among the migrants before 8th of every month and Relief in the 1st week of every month failing which the migrants will launch a comprehensive agitation and the responsibility will he State Govt, and Relief authorities.
Many social and political organizations took part in the protest and their leaders spoke on the occasion.
Prominent were Buan Lai Bhat (ex MLC), Jatin Bhat, Bal Krian Bhat, Amit Koul,. Aok Kumar Bhat, R.K. Koul, Raj Nath Fotedar, Rame Bharti, and Vinod .
