Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 17: Police and security agencies are mulling stern action against the miscreants and terrorists, who have started appearing across the Srinagar city and are setting ablaze the shops and vehicles.
Sources told Early Times that separatists have told their henchmen to resort to any tactic to prevent the people from defying the protest calendar. "As more than ninety percent miscreants have been taken care-off and are cooling their heels behind the bars a few are still out and are following the diktats of their masters," they added.
Sources revealed that a few terrorists have also joined the ranks of miscreants and are resorting to "loot" and "arson" to create fear among the people so that they don't dare to venture out of their homes.
On Monday morning masked men appeared at Parimpora on Srinagar city outskirts thrashed the drivers of the two Tata Sumos (JK05B-5863 and JK09-9209) and set them ablaze. "They (masked miscreants) roughed up the drivers and blamed them for sabotaging the ongoing unrest," said an eyewitness.
Police sources revealed that miscreants who burnt the Tata Sumos at Parimpora have been identified and raids were conducted to arrest them. "Six miscreants stand identified. They will be arrested soon," they added.
Earlier, in a similar incident, two auto rickshaws were set ablaze in Srinagar this month by unidentified persons for ferrying passengers during strike hours. A few days ago six shops were set ablaze by miscreants in Qammerwari area, just 2 kilometers from Parimpora, for defying the protest calendar. Two private vehicles were set ablaze by the miscreants in uptown Srinagar.
insiders revealed that terrorists and their over ground workers are at forefront these days as they have been asked by their handlers sitting across the Line of Control (LoC) to provide full support to the separatists to prolong the unrest in Kashmir.
Reports said that despite miscreants setting ablaze two Tata Sumos in Srinagar this morning, vehicles continued to ply on Srinagar roads. "We cannot sit in our homes forever. We are facing starvation. Geelani wants us to beg to feed our families. Enough is enough continuous shutdown is not taking us anywhere. Azadi is a farce. People like Geelani are hoodwinking people by showing them dreams. Banks have tightened their noose over us we have to clear our debts. We can sit in our homes just for the sake of ego of a few people," sources quoted a few transporters as having said.
They said, "People who think that we will get terrified by their acts are living in fool's paradise. We have made up our minds to give a befitting reply to all those who are out to ruin us and are attacking our livelihood."
Sources said, "Terrorists are finding it hard to carry out any major strikes. Now they have changed their tactics and are attacking people. Police are tracking these miscreants and terrorists and very soon they would be nabbed or eliminated."
