| Rattled Pak says India financing terror | | PM Modi effect | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Sunday Goa statement that Pakistan was the mother-ship of terrorism has rattled Pakistan. The toothless Mian Nawaz Sharif Government is eating about the bush and levelling wild, malicious and ridiculous charges against India. It has been levelling charges which no nation in the world would appreciate. Leave aside Organization of Islamic Cooperation and China.
Rattled Pakistan has pleaded innocent and, on the contrary, shamelessly said that it was India which was financing terror to deflect the real issue. Reacting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks that Pakistan was the "mothership of terrorism", Premier Nawaz Sharif's Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has accused the Indian Prime Minister of "misleading" the BRICS countries over the issue.
"Mr Modi is misleading his BRICS and BIMSTEC colleagues," Aziz said, and asserted that the Indian leadership was "desperately trying to hide its brutalities" in Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan Foreign Office (PFO) said that "Aziz reacted strongly to Modi's statement during his address at the BRICS summit in Goa in which he called Pakistan a 'mother-ship' of terrorism world-wide".
The PFO has said: "Pakistan joins all the members of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) and BIMSTEC in condemning terrorism and reaffirms its full commitment to fight the menace of terrorism without discrimination, 'including against the Indian state-sponsored terrorism' on Pakistani soil".
It also claimed that the "UN Human Rights High Commissioner in Geneva and the Secretary General of the OrganiZation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) have called for sending a fact finding mission to Kashmir" and added that "the UN and OIC have "rejected Indian attempts to equate Kashmiris' movement for self-determination with terrorism." It further accused India of "terror financing" and said "India has no moral ground to even talk about counter-terrorism efforts let alone do the finger pointing".
Pakistani charge that India is violating human rights of Kashmiri people is bogus. The fact of the matter is that the Indian security forces are maintaining maximum restraint while fighting the separatists and stone-throwers. Indian security forces have suffered more injuries than the unruly elements in the Valley.
It is not India but Pakistan which has been sponsoring terrorism worldwide. It has on its soil many terror training camps where the terrorists like Hafiz Saeed, Masood Azhar and Syed Salahuddin have been training jihadis for the purpose of bleeding India. It has been violating the ceasefire on a daily basis and only on Sunday, its brutal forces martyred Sudees Kumar in the Rajouri sector.
The fact of the matter is that the change in the attitude of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has upset the Pakistani applecart. It had never imagined that the Indian Army would break the psychological barrier by crossing the LoC and launching surgical strikes and it is this that the Pakistani think tanks have not been able to swallow. These have stung them and wounded them. |
