Two motorcyclists among 4 killed in accidents across Jammu region

Jammu, Oct 17: Two motorcyclists among four died and two wounded in separate road accidents across Jammu region. A motorcyclist killed when a bike he was riding on collided with a tanker in Nowshera area of Rajouri. "A motorcycle rider this morning collided with a tanker in village Narian in Nowshera," police here said.
They said that the rider identified as retired head constable of J&K Police Mohammadd Rafiq,62, son of Feroz Din, resident of Muradpur died on the spot while a pedestrian who suffered fracture in the mishap namely Khadam Hussain,44, son of Nazam Din of Lam (Guni) was referred to the hospital Jammu.
The tanker has also been seized and the driver arrested, police said adding that a case is registered.
In another incident a motorcyclist identified as Pankaj Kumar, resident of Sunderbani died when his motorcycle was hit by a car in Siot area of Rajouri.
Police said that he was rushed to Sunderbani hospital where he succumbed. In another road accident at Mankote in Mendhar area of Poonch district, two persons killed and two injured when a tipper they were travelling rolled down.
A tipper bearing registration number JK12-2182 was coming from Poonch to mendhar today. On reaching Ucchad the tipper fall into gorge , killing two persons including a woman who were on board and injuring two others severely including driver.
Those who were killed were identified as Sarfaraz Kahn 23 years old resident of Uchhad and Maqsooda 55 years old wife of Arif Khan were on board in the ill fated tipper.
The injured have been identified as Liyaqat Hussain of Salwah and Mohd Javed khan , driver of the tipper. The injured were rushed to subdivision Hospital Mendhar for treatment by the police party which reached immediately on the spot after receiving the information of accident. Meanwhile police has registered the case and started investigation , Police spokesperson said.
