Jammu, Oct 17: First Additional Sessions Judge, Jammu, M A Chowdhary has rejected the bail application of an alleged narco-smuggler. Gautam Kumar was arrested by Narwal police along with 2 kg Ganja. After hearing the APP, the court said illicit drugs had a high addiction potential and there was gradual increase in their intake, getting the users dependent on them, both physically and psychologically. "The compulsive drug seeking and use, on addiction, causes chronic, brain disease changing the brain, its structure and how it works. The deadly menace, a major problem for the society, requires to be checked," the judge said.
With these observations, he rejected bail application of the accused. (JNF) |
