Samba, Oct 17: Making a mockery of transfer policy, some employees in the State Industrial Development Corporation's (SIDCO) Estate Department in Samba, have been enjoying uninterrupted stay for the last 15 years because of their political and bureaucratic contacts.
Sources told Early Times that this privileged lot had managed to stay there despite complaints of the fellow employees and local residents. And if the present State of affairs continues, they may well stay back for another decade.
Sources revealed that one person was appointed as Daily wager in Estate Department of SIDCO in Samba some 15 years back. Since then, the said official is still in the same office and is enjoying the post of Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE). There are some other officers in SIDCO Estate Department in Samba, who have been enjoying their posts since long.
"There are things that need to be brought out of the wraps for people to know. We have filed an RTI query to brought revelation into light that why AEE he has not been transferred since long time," said Satpal, a local.
According to Government order No. 861-GAD, the minimum tenure for stay of a Government employee at one place is 2 years and maximum up to 3 years. Pawan Sethi has been worked as Daily Wager, Junior Engineer and he is now enjoying the post of AEE with some additional charges at SIDCO Estate Office, succeeding in satisfying his superiors for the last 15 years. All this happens amid controversies and charges of corruption against officials in the SIDCO Estate Department, Samba, he said.
