H&ME deptt fails to implement Govt's order to install Biometric attendance system 10/17/2016 11:26:19 PM Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report Jammu: The lackadaisical approach of State Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department and concerned authority can be gauged from the fact that it has failed to implement government order to install Biometric attendance system in major hospitals in Jammu city. Moreover, the concerned authority of Indira Gandhi Government Dental College (IGGDC), Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Super Speciality Hospital (SSH), Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh (SMGS) Hospital and Chest Diseases (CD) Hospital Jammu also have not installed the Biometric attendance system so far. Sources told Early Times that despite instructions of the State Government to make Biometric attendance mandatory, the concern administration of above said hospitals has not been able to get the system installed. Sources alleged that some of officials come and leave the office at their own wish. "Biometric attendance in the government hospitals is need of the hour as it will keep a track on the attendance of officials as well as it will ensure punctuality, accountability and transparency, "Sources also said, adding that due to least interest the system was not installed in the hospitals. Interestingly, officials of GMCH and its associated hospitals have not purchased required machines so far due to which they failed to install the system. When contacted IGGDC Principal Dr Romesh Singh said that they have purchased machines of Biometric attendance system but due to Court case, the system was not installed. But on February 25, 2016, the Jammu and Kashmir High Court stayed the state government's controversial order that had made use of Aadhaar card compulsory for availing any government benefit, including salary and pension.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
