Two women hospitalized, 5 animals injured in cross border shelling

Kathua, Oct 28: Panicked gripped in border town of Kathua district following heavy overnight shelling and firing from Pakistani Rangers who targeted forward Indian posts and civilian areas also in Hiranagar sector resulting injuries to two women and 05 animals.
Local reports said, "Pakistan Rangers resorted to heavy shelling and firing late last night creating panic among the border people.'
"Pakistani mortars also damaged house of one Ashwani Kumar R/o Ladwal when family members were taking dinner. "Two mortars which hit his residence has damaged roof of the house, he said while narrating the horrifying moments how his family members were rescued by neighbors.
Ashwani demanded befitting reply to Pakistan for once and all so as to get rid of regular migration and scared life along International border.
Meanwhile some border dwellers irked over frequent displacement due to cross border firing advocate dialogue instead of ceasefire violation by Pakistan. People especially the farmers hailing from Bobiyan where Pakistan Rangers has rained heavy mortar firing last night are worried about the crops as harvesting period is on peak.
Some including Thirth Ram Naib sarpanch of Bobiya and others in atypical political slant accused the ruling regime by saying Bharatiya Janta party and Dr Jatendra Singh sitting member of Parliament/ MoS PMO, made false promises to strengthen border people, hold special recruitment rally, allotment of 5 Marlas plots in safer place, construction of bankers but everything still is an illusion.
They added that people living along IB on both sides suffer a lot specially farmers during cross border firings so governments of both the countries must solve dispute and pending issues through dialogue and leave attacking general public.
Meanwhile a veterinary doctors' team under the supervision of Dr Balbir Singh rushed to border village and treated the injured animals.
