Early Times Report

JAMMU, Aug 27: The authorities have failed in stopping the roof plaster of the newly constructed Swine Flu Lab from falling. The building was constructed at a cost of Rs 6.03 crores, as well as the water leakage in the lab for last many months.
Moreover, the reminders have been forwarded to the concerning wings including Civil wing as well as Mechanical wings for fixing the problems so that these problems will not create any hurdles in the smooth functioning of the lab but staff is facing same problems so far.
Officials of the GMC, seeking anonymity, recalled that former Governor had showed interest in establishing same facility in the Jammu as well as in Kashmir so that the victim of the deadly disease, would not be suffered and get treatment in 'Golden Hours' and funds were released immediately but due to some problems, the project was took some time in starting.
"In 2016, the project was completed and handed over to administration of the GMC&H Jammu in April 2016, "officials claimed. They further added that since then the few minor problems have been creating obstacles in the smooth functioning. "But, now, for last many months, the pipes carry filthy water of sewage were damaged resulting the water spreads all over hygienic lab's floor even the 'Dirty Lane' room is flooded with it, "officials further claimed.
They further alleged that a number of the letters have been sent to the concerning wings to fix the problems as soon as possible but all efforts made by the administration were vain as, the problem has not been fixed by the concerned authorities. "Even, they both are busy in play blame game over the issue by saying that the Mechanical Wings has installed a unit on the roof of the lab and its pipes are leaking and creating problems but on the same issue the a official of the Mechanical wing claimed that its work of the Civil wing, they have to fix it, there is no role of the former wing.
When contacted AEE Civil Wing, GMC Jammu, Bhupinder Singh admitted that he was aware of the issue and it has been identified. He also said that problems will be fixed within days as they are working on it.
