Jammu, Aug 27: Despite being BJP's bastion, 16 out of 31 blocks in Ladakh region are headless. Astonishingly, in Ladakh regions majority posts of BDOs are vacant for years together. "There are total 15 blocks in Kargil district and six are vacant, similarly, Leh district has total 16 blocks, but 10 are vacant", informed a former Councillor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh. "Since 2014, when new administrative blocks were formed by the Omar Abdullah led government, most of the newly created blocks remained headless", he added. Whishing anonymity, the former Councillor said that adhocism had derailed their hopes towards the Ladakh region especially Leh that has been international tourist destination. "How can three persons that too VLWs or worker supervisors achieve thetargets of entire block?", he questioned. He regretted that with BJP ruling Leh district (LAHDC Leh) the district is worst sufferer of administrative discrimination where 65 percent post of BDOs are lying vacant. He said that entire leadership of BJP, even PDP during their rule in state claimed to develop the region on international standards, but the claims did not appear on ground anywhere. |
