Joint Commissioner JMC reviews functioning of Health, Sanitation wings | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 8: Joint Commissioner, JMC Pardeep Singh convened a meeting of Health and Sanitation wing to review the functioning of said wing. The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohd. Saleem Khan, Health officer JMC and other staff members of the corporation. At the outset of the meeting Joint Commissioner, welcomed all the participants of the meeting. He pointed out regarding the various sanitation issues raised by the Councillors and directed the staff of sanitation wing to resolve the issues in consultation with the Councillors. It has been also pointed out that the graph of user charges is also on very lower side. He issued directions to gear up the collection of user charges and achieve the desired targets by the ending March 2019. The issue of dumping of Mulba / building material has been also pin pointed by the chair and it has been desired that challan to be served to the defaulters who have dumped the material creating insanitary conditions and also inconvenience to the public in general. The chair also pointed out that the sewerage manholes within the limits of JMC found overflowing at various locations, thus creating insanitary conditions and inconvenience also to the public in general. The field staff has been directed to report immediately so that the matter could be taken with the concerned departments for rectification. It has been also pointed out that despite a ban on use of polythene, the polythene is being sold in the markets. The directions have been issued to seize the polythene and imposed penalty also on the defaulters. The other who were present in the meeting Assistant Sanitation Officer, Sanitary Inspectors and Sanitary Supervisors. |
