After Maama, Bhaanja gives 'damn' to NIA summon
Geelani family above law?
5/3/2019 11:41:31 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, May 3: The family of senior separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani seems be itself themselves above law as after one of the members, another one has not responded to the summon of the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
Previously it was Geelani's son who had not appeared before the NIA after issuance of the first summon and now Geelani's grandson is doing the same.
Geelani's grandson Anees Islam was scheduled to appear before the NIA on April 29 but sources said he didn't appear before them in New Delhi.
Now the NIA has issued a new notice to Aneesul Islam, asking him to attend the agency's Delhi headquarters for questioning in a funding case.
He has been asked to appear before NIA on May 06, 2019, at 10.00 and summon has been issued by SP, headquarters, Delhi. This has a reference of Case no NIA crime no RC- 10/2017/NIA/DLI.
It is pertinent to mention that in March, Syed Nasim Geelani son of Hurriyat G Chairman Syed Ali Geelani had allegedly reacted similarly to summon of NIA as he declined to appear before the NIA in the national capital on the first summon.
Nasim, who is a government servant, had declined to appear before the NIA in connection with a terror funding case.
Sources said that time Nasim conveyed to the NIA that he would not be able to appear for questioning in New Delhi due to his "busy schedule" in Kashmir and that if they want to question him they should visit Kashmir. But finally he had no options but to appear before the NIA.
Sources said members of Geelani family have been enjoying luxurious life within Kashmir and in other states as well.
