Labour Department failed to run state owned ESI Dispensaries: BBIA | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 28: A meeting of Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) was held under the Presidentship of Lalit Mahajan in the presence of Tarun Singla, Sr. Vice President, Ajay Langer Vice President, Viraaj Malhotra General Secretary, Rajesh Jain Secretary and Vivek Singhal Treasurer BBIA & other members. During the course of discussions, member raised their serious concern that Labour Department has failed to run State Owned ESI Dispensaries and to establish New Dispensaries across the State resulting Industrial workers suffering very badly due to non availability of Medicare Facility in spite of the fact that Employers and Employees paying the requisite Contribution to ESI Corporation on regular basis. As per the data available with the Association, around 2.5 lacs Workers registered with the ESI Corporation. and Corporation allocated requisite Funds to Labour Department for providing requisite Medical and Para medical Staff and other services in the existing Dispensaries and also a proposal for the opening of 11 New Dispensaries in State but till date nothing has been done. The position is more serious as the Labour Department failed to provide the requisite Staff in the State owned Dispensaries as the Health Department has refused to provide the Doctors and Para medical Staff on deputation due to shortage. |
