Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 1: Justice Gita Mittal, Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir was conferred the Justice PN Bhagwati Award at the Capital Foundation National Awards by His Excellency Governor of Andhra Pradesh Sh. BB Harichandan and Hon'ble Justice AK Patnaik, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India in New Delhi today. The Award was conferred in recognition of her judicial work towards Access to Justice and her judicial innovation for designing the Vulnerable Witness Deposition Complex. Earlier, in 2018, Justice Gita Mittal was conferred with the Nari Shakti Puruskar, India's highest civilian honour for women by Sh. Ram Nath Kovind, President of India. The Chairman's Award was conferred upon Honble Justice AK Patnaik by the Governor of Andhra Pradesh. The Justice VR Krishna Iyer Award was conferred upon Justice MM Kumar, President, National Company Law Tribunal. Justice PP Bhat, Chairman, Income Tax Appellate Tribunal and Justice Jawad Rahim, Member, National Green Tribunal were awarded the Capital Foundation Award. The Capital Foundation National Award in the past has been conferred upon luminaries in the past such as Sh Soli Sorabjee, Sh Arun Jaitley, Dr Ashok Desai, Mr Arvind P Datar, Justice DK Jain, Mr Ram Jethmalani, Mr Fali S Nariman, Mr KK Venugopal etc. |
