9/1/2019 11:05:26 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 1: Natrang today presented a new hindi play 'Ek Aur Din' written by Shanti Mehrotra and directed by Neeraj Kant at Natrang Studio Theatre Jammu.
The play opens where a dysfunctional family is seen having morning tea. The family has four members, with no bond and affection, which is clearly visible to the audience. A follow up to an awkward silence comes when the husband starts yelling at his wife for spoiling his taste with a tasteless coffee. The chaos escalates when his daughter and son, who are least interested in their conversation and are busy playing video games, also comes under the radius of his frustration. First scene fades with everyone leaving for their work, besides the mother, who is seen sitting dejected with the ongoing turmoil in her head.
As the play progresses to the second scene, the mother is seen sitting all by herself and another character appears wearing white attire, he starts in his baritone voice, "I use to live here, and there was a sense of tranquility leaving under this roof, and now everything has vanished. I've seen two cheerful kids playing here who are seen nowhere now." He is nobody but the same father but from the time when all was well and there was no gap between the members of the family. He leaves the room by provoking her to leave the house for her inner peace.
The family is seen failing to come out of this mayhem even in scene three and in the end, mother is seen hearing numerous voices and feels she has failed miserably in stabilizing the situation.
Natrang actors who performed in the play included Mahikshit Singh, Vanshika Gupta, Bhrigu Sharma, Aarti Devi and Toyab Hussain. Lights were operated by Manoj Lalotra whereas the music was rendered by Kananpreet Kaur. The show was coordinated by Mohd. Yaseen
