Bureaucrats try to convince PF Board members for opposing merger with centre | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 20: In order to keep their dominance intact on J&K Employees Provident Fund Organization, some bureaucrats have reportedly found convincing board members for opposing merger of organization with centre during a meeting which held recently. Sources told Early Times that the meeting was called to review the functioning of J&K Employees Provident Fund Organization and many agendas were discussed during the meeting. "Issues like digitalization of records of the EPF subscribers, adding more establishments under EPF were discussed threadbare. But instantly turning agendas of the meeting, some officials asked the board members for opposing merger of State EPF with Central Government by saying that it would not be favour of local employees working in private sectors," said a member on the condition of anonymity. He said that they were surprised to know their thoughts on this issue, when entire working class in Private Sectors feeling happy after knowing that state EPF will merge with the center and the employees will get all benefits which are enjoyed by the employees working in private sector in other states of the country. Presently there are more than 5 lakhs employees covered under Employees Provident Fund Organization, he informed. He further informed that although members of various trade unions present in the meeting out rightly rejected the idea of officials terming it against the working class who have always been exploited at the hands of employers and never get adequate financial benefits under EPFO. "After the abrogation of special status of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, the central laws regarding labors will directly be implemented in the new UT which will benefit to the workers of private sector," he said furthering adding that employees will get pension benefits, under EDLI - Employees Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme the insurance amount will increase from Rs 70,000 to Rs 6 lakhs, employees will be allotted Unique Number generated by the portal etc. |
