Jammu, Jan 8: To commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand ji on 12th January 2021 which is also celebrated as National Youth Day, Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI) organised a meeting of Executive committee and unanimously decided to hold mega blood donation camp on 12th January at Super speciality Hospital, Jammu The decision to organise blood donation camp was taken in the meeting in view of COVID-19 pandemic which has trampled the health care system of many countries and India is not an exception. Blood transfusion services in any hospital whether govt or private, hold the prime importance and ensure smooth functioning of all elective and urgent surgical interventions of various traumas, emergency, obstetric cases, dialysis and the cancer patients throughout 24 × 7. In the wake of ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, just like many other sectors of the health care system, blood banks are also struggling to cope up with the unforeseen challenges. Also it is decided to collaborate with like-minded social organisations like All J&K Sadguru Kabir Sabha, Jammu, Sahyog India, Art of Living, Green India Foundation, Green Ray Foundation, Akhil Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, NRI Association Jammu, Hockey Legend, Judo Association, Shaheed e Azam Bhagat Singh, Disha Volunteers etc for extending the outreach and maximising the number of volunteers for blood donation. State Unit of YHAI under the Chairmanship of S P Varma, Padam Shri also rendering full support for organising this event for the welfare of mankind that too in Covid times when blood is very critical for saving human lives. |
