Jammu, Oct 7: As the countdown for elections to Block Development Councils has begun with issuance of notification, Congress has started its exercise in line of preparations well within time. A meeting of Ministers and legislators of the party was held in Srinagar today by J&K PCC president Saifuddin Soz for the purpose of building consensus within the party over the 'strategy' to be adopted for these elections.
" We are trying to build consensus within the party first as to what should be the strategy for these crucial polls…….all the MLAs and MLCs were present besides the ministers of the party who discussed the issue threadbare …..", PCC chief said while speaking to ET. However, no decision has been taken as yet, he said adding in the same breath," it is very serious and crucial issue and shall receive serious attention at all levels from the party". Prof So said a series of meetings would be convened and views of all concerned would be taken seriously before arriving at some decision .

JAMMU, Oct 7: The issues of not closing the old sub-district hospital (SDH) in the town and develop the new hospital on the outskirts on modern lines, with the state-of-the-art infrastructure, have brought the Hindu and Muslim organisations on one platform in the hitherto communally sensitive Bhaderwah tehsil of Doda.
The old hospital (which now stands closed) is in the heart of Bhaderwah, while the new is at Dandi, about 5 km from the town. In the absence of a minibus service, or any other public transport, people face difficulties to shift patients to Dandi.
