Farooq seeks resignation from Kamaal Despite his apologies, Delhi asks Farooq to fire Kamaal | AICC takes umbrage on 'unwarranted' remarks against Rahul Gandhi | | Ahmed Ali Fayyaz
SRINAGAR, Nov 10: In its first assertion of authority and command in the last three years of NC-Congress coalition, Congress high command has asked National Conference patriarch and Minister in Dr Manmohan Singh's cabinet, Dr Farooq Abdullah, to stop his younger brother, Mustafa Kamaal, from extending his anti-Congress, anti-Delhi and anti-Army tirade to the party General Secretary Rahul Gandhi. Working obsequiously on the warning from Delhi, Dr Abdullah has immediately asked Mr Kamaal to tender his resignation, both as NC's Chief Spokesman and additional General Secretary.
Highly connected political sources revealed to Early Times that a senior leader of Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) this evening mailed one of Dr Mustafa Kamaal's interviews, purportedly given to Kashmir News Service, with a note of caution to All India Congress Committee (AICC). In the interview circulated today, Kamaal is quoted to have rebuffed JKPCC chief Prof Said-ud-din Soz's revelation that the AICC General Secretary had lately expressed his "unhappiness" over the qu...

Jammu, Nov 10: In less than 48 hours he painted a picture of 'all is well' between the ruling allies NC and Congress in the state, the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah snubbed seniormost leader of Congress, no less dignitary than the PCC chief Prof Saif-u-Din Soz for the latter having stated that AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi was 'not happy' with the governance in the state. | | Omar Revolts Against Army? | Congress has no other option but to act one way or the other | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 10: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today left none in any doubt that he has no place for the Army in his political scheme of things and that he would not mind taking cudgels with the Army which has been fighting Pakistan-sponsored secessionist violence in Kashmir since decades now. The Chief Minister today told media persons that he was not going to listen to the Army's views on the AFSPA and that the said law had to go from certain areas. He was so angry that he crossed all the lines and sought to force down the Army's throat his stand on the AFSPA. "Yes or no is not the answer from the Army. The AFSPA has to go. No is not the option I am going to consider. I...
| | Omar has displeased the Congress by flouting coalition dharma | Crumbling coalition | | Neha
JAMMU, Nov 10: Who says the relations between the NC and the Congress have been harmonized? Who says the state Congress has forgiven Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and his uncle Mustafa Kamaal for the wrongs they have committed? Who says the issue of rotational chief minister has been settled once for all? Who says Omar Abdullah would surely serve as Chief Minister for full term of six years? Who says AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi (read Congress high command) is for extending unflinching and unqualified support to Omar Abdullah? The relations between the two coalition partners are one of bitterness and animosity. Bridges have not been built. Only the tone has changed. The JKPCC ...
| | JKNPP smells rat, BJP in no mood to annoy NC | Selection of clerks, banking associates in J&K Bank | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 10: Maintaining criminal silence over the issue of alleged nepotism and favoritism in the selection of about 1600 clerks and banking associates by J&K Bank, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seems to be in no mood to annoy National Conference (NC) led coalition government.
None of their leaders have bothered to issue even a mild statement against the selection of 1600 clerks and banking associates by J&K Bank in complete violation of the established norms of selection. They have seemingly decided not to represent voice of Jammu and instead, concentrate on issues which are of no significance to the commoners. They have issued not even a single statement against t...
