After Pandits, Sikh community faces terror threats in Kashmir

Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 24: Even as the victimized Pandit community has been facing multiple terror threats in Kashmir, now the Sikh community has also received similar threats. As per the sources, the Sikh community has been targeted through a provocative threat letter believed to be from the same, The Resistance Front or TRF which has already been attacking the victimized Pandit community. It’s fifth such threat- letter since mid of November when first such content appeared on the social media. Thereafter, there consecutive threats were addressed to the Pandit community which has already been bearing the brunt of targeted killings. In October last year, the terrorists shot dead a woman school principal from the Kashmiri Sikh community and a Kashmiri Pandit teacher after demanding to see their identity cards inside a government-run campus in Srinagar's Eidgah locality, two days after a prominent Kashmiri Pandit businessman Makhan Lal Bindroo and a migrant roadside vendor from Bihar were gunned down within hours of each other. SIA seizes Rs 122.89 cr worth property including house registered in Geelani's name

Early Times Report Srinagar, Dec 24: Jammu and Kashmir Police's State Investigation Agency (SIA) on Saturday seized Rs 122.89 crore worth properties of banned Jamaat-e- Islami in Pulwama, Kulgam, Budgam and Srinagar districts. A house in the name of deceased Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani has also been seized. Geelani died in September, 2021. Geelani's house in the Barzulla area of Srinagar was seized days after District Magistrate (DM) Srinagar ordered the sealing of three properties of Jamaat including a house recorded in the name of Syed Ali Geelani. Early Times Report Srinagar, Dec 24: Security forces achieved a major success in Kashmir when they recovered a large cache of arms including 8 AK series rifles and 12 pistols in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said. Chillai Kalan freezes Kashmir, Srinagar records -5.5 degrees

Early Times Report Srinagar, Dec 24: The winter's harshest period, Chillai Kalan, continues to tighten its grip on the region as Kashmir continues to witness freezing nights. An official of the Meteorological Centre here said the minimum temperature overnight in Srinagar was recorded at minus 5.4C. On December 22, Srinagar had recorded minus 5.5C overnight temperature which was the coldest of the season so far. The Konibal weather station in Pampore Pulwama recorded the overnight temperature of minus 7 degrees Celsius making it the coldest place in the region.
