After terror group's KP 'hit list,' Union Home Secy chairs high level security meet | | |

New Delhi, Dec 6: Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla on Tuesday reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said, days after a terrorist group released a "hit list" of 56 employees belonging to the Kashmiri Pandit community. The meeting was also attended by other senior officials of the ministry, paramilitary forces, the Jammu and Kashmir administration, and police.
The meeting took stock of the prevailing security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, an official said.
It is a routine monthly review meeting and some of the representatives of the Jammu and Kashmir administration attended it through video conferencing, another official said.
There have been reports that people from the Kashmiri Pandit community working in the valley are in a state of panic after a terrorist group released a "hit list" of 56 employees from among them.

Jammu, Dec 6: Arrested from the posh locality of Shastri Nagar in the heart of Jammu city, the female drug trafficker, who is a native of the border district of Rajouri, was in touch with the handlers sitting in Pakistan.
The handler sitting across the border sent her location through WhatsApp and asked to drop the consignment of narcotics in the same location in the Shastri Nagar area of Jammu city.
Identified as Rubina Kousar wife of Sakinder Hayat, a resident of the Jhangar Sariah area of Nowshera tehsil of Rajouri district was arrested on December 1 from the Shastri Nagar locality of Jammu city.

New Delhi, Dec 6: Financial support is the "lifeblood" of terrorism and greater priority should be accorded to counter terror financing, NSA Ajit Doval said on Tuesday while hosting his counterparts from the Central Asian region with an aim to evolve a common framework to confront major regional security challenges.
In his address at the inaugural India-Central Asia meeting of national security advisors, Doval also said that connectivity projects should respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries, in remarks that came amid increasing criticism of China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Srinagar, Dec 6: Security forces on Tuesday detected and defused an improvised explosive device (IED) in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district, officials said.
The suspected IED was found by the security forces in Shirmal area of Shopian, they said
Soon after the detection, the area was cordoned and the bomb disposal squad was called and it later destroyed the IED safely in a controlled explosion, a security official said.
This was the second IED detected and later defused in Shopian district in the last fortnight.

SRINAGAR, Dec 6: J&K Police alongwith Army recovered cache of ammunition in Uri Sector of Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir
Police said the recovery was made in village Chauranda area of Uri.
“Based on specific input, Police alongwith Army (16 SIKHLI) launched a joint cordon and search operation in village Chauranda. During search operation, the joint team recovered cache of ammunition including 200 AK rounds, eight Chinese grenades and IED material,” a police spokesman said.
