Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 22: Within days after airing apprehensions that the Union Government will give a truncated statehood after polls, former Chief Minister and National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah appeared to have lost hope of getting statehood back. “I do not think that the Union Government will restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir”, Dr Abdullah said and added that the Centre was just befooling people on this issue. Lok Sabha member from Srinagar Dr. Farooq Abdullah charged the BJP-led government of the centre of playing a gimmick with the people on the issue of the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. “Centre doesn’t want to restore statehood. Agencies NEW DELHI, Feb 22: The Ministry of Education has directed all states and Union Territories to fix the minimum age for admission in Class 1 as six years, officials said on Wednesday. According to the new National Education Policy (NEP), the foundational stage consists of five years of learning opportunities for all children (between 3 and 8 years of age) that includes three years of preschool education and then Classes 1 and 2. “The policy thus promotes seamless learning and development of children from pre-school to class 2.
