JAMMU, Apr 2 : As a sequel to preserve and showcase the rich heritage of shrines of the state, the Jammu and Kashmir Board for Muslim specified Waqf and specified Waqf properties have decided to prepare documentaries on all prominent shrines affiliated with the Waqf Board, giving full details of historical, religious, social, cultural and educational perspectives. On the suggestion by Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah, who is also Chairman of the Waqf Board, the documentaries are being prepared through educational multimedia research Centre (EMMRC) University of Kashmir.
The proposal in this regard was discussed last night at the 40th meeting of the Finance Committee of Waqf Board held here under the Chairmanship of the Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Mr. Abdul Rahim Rather.
The Vice Chancellor of the Muslim Waqf Board, Prof. M. Y. Qadri, ex-Chief Secretary and MLC Sheikh Ghulam Rasool and Secretary, Waqf Board Mr. G. M. Rather were present in the meeting.

JAMMU, Apr 2 : Minister of State for Home, Mr. Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo today informed the House that during the Kargil War, 1999, 6072 families in 21 villages of Niabat Khour, Tehsil, Akhnoor were relocated to safer places. For defence purposes the Army laid land mines in a large number of villages in approximately 28096 kanals of land. Temporary camps were set up by the Government at Devipur, Naiwala, Bomal and Thandi-Choi in Tehsil Akhnoor to provide shelter to these people. JAMMU, Apr 2 : Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma today informed the Legislative Assembly that the villages namely Deon, Daghar, Paddal, Fedyali, Thalade Karthen in Samba constituency are being provided drinking water from existing Dug well at Sagoon and Surinsar Lake on alternate days.
