Agri universities’ appointment, promotion scam: No action despite CAG’s exposure
4/29/2023 10:56:16 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 29: The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India in its latest report has exposed mass irregularities in the appointments and promotions in the two prestigious agricultural universities of J&K but no action has been taken so far. Highly placed sources said that higher-ups in the administration have yet to take cognizance of the CAG’s exposure because members of influential families are involved in recruitment and promotion scandals in both the agricultural universities of J&K. “Instead of taking action against those who were involved in illegal appointments, higher-ups in the administration are rather trying to hush up the matter by taking observations of CAG as causal and non-serious”, sources. CAG in its latest report observed that the human resources function of the universities was far from satisfactory and was plagued by irregular appointments, favoritism, and inadmissible financial up-gradations. The CAG further observed that relaxing the minimum standards for appointments and promotions of teachers compromised the quality of teaching...
