KATRA, May 27 : Mr. N. N. Vohra, Governor, today emphasized the need for speeding up the construction of hostels, residential accommodation for faculty and staff and all other required infrastructure development of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) to meet the emerging requirements of the varsity and develop it as a centre of excellence in teaching and research.
The Governor was chairing the 19th Meeting of the Executive Council of the SMVD University at Kakryal near here today. The Governor, who is Chancellor of the University, asked Prof. Sudhir K. Jain, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU, to urgently review the Master Plan, keeping in view the requirements for the next 20-30 years. The Vice Chan-cellor’s recommendations shall be discussed and finalized by the Executive Council at its next meeting to be held in September, 2013. KISHTWAR, May 27 : As a part of drive against traffic violations, Kishtwar police in last three days have seized 74 vehicles for flouting various traffic norms including over speeding, over loading, driving without driving licenses and valid documents.
While divulging the details, Dy SP Headquarters Farooq Qaiser said that Kishtwar police constituted three teams headed by Sub Inspector level officers under the supervision of SSP Kishtwar Thakur Kulbir Singh.
