SRINAGAR, June 14: Defence Minister, Arun Jaitley arrived here today on his maiden visit to Jammu and Kashmir. The Defence Minister discussed security scenario in the state during his meetings with Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and Governor Narendra Nath Vohra.
Officials said that during his two day visit, Jaitley would visit some of the forward posts and in addition would chair the special security review meeting. He got a briefing about the overall security scenario in the state during a meeting at the headquarters of 15 Corps immediately after arriving here. He is accompanied by Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Bikram Singh.
"The security officials gave a resume of the security set up to the Defence Minister as soon as he arrived in Srinagar. The security forces officials told him that the situation is very much under control on the Line of Control and there is no need to worry on this front. VARANASI, June 14: Union Minister Kalraj Mishra today said that India will never tolerate intrusion by any country into its territory and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take an " appropriate and positive decision" on ceasefire violation in Jammu and Kashmir. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take positive decision on this issue (the ceasefire violations in Rajouri and Poonch areas of Jammu and Kashmir).
