Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 3 : Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Monday underlined the need for ensuring 24x7 electricity supply to the consumers in the State without increasing tariff or putting any additional burden on the consumers. He said a befitting mechanism in PPP mode can be mulled in this regard to begin in the twin capitals of Srinagar and Jammu. Receiving presentation on the study made under the guidance of Planning Commission of India by FEEDBACK INFRA for ascertaining feasibility of roping in PPP partners in distribution of electricity in Srinagar and Jammu, the Chief Minister said that his government has flagged power sector as one of the most important sectors in the development policy and various measures have been put in place to increase generation and provide electricity to the consumers hassle-free. “PPP participation both in generation as well as distribution will be welcomed, if it ensures increase in indigenous power generation and upgrade supply system without tariff increase”, he said and added that the presentation made by the representatives ...

Early Times Report Reasi, June 3 : Two deaths were reported in Reasi district of Jammu on Monday. According to police, an unidentified man jumped to death from Baradari bridge over river Chenab on Monday morning. In the absence of recovery of body the police is yet to identify the real identity of the deceased. However, the police have recovered a shirt, a pair of sleeper and Rs 20 from near the suicide point. In another incident Jagdish Singh resident of Arnas in Reasi district allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself inside his house. Early Times Report Jammu, June 3 : A woman committed suicide by hanging herself with a ceiling fan at her residence here in Pounci Chak area today. Police sources identified deceased as Shaloo Dewi. As per reports, the woman had verbal spat with her husband namely Ashok Kumar following which he committed suicide. Her husband after the incident escaped from the spot. Jammu, June 3 : Health and Sanitation wing of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) under the supervision of Health Officer Dr Vinod Sharma and overall supervision Commissioner JMC K L Khajuria seized 49 kgs of polythene and realised an amount of Rs 21400 as fine from the defaulters. SRINAGAR, June 3 : In the interest of Public at large, Government has issued a circular directing that no Passenger Vehicle will make more than one trip, in a cycle of 24 hours, on the National Highway from Jammu to Srinagar or from Srinagar to Jammu. Traffic Check posts at Lower Munda, Nagrota and other places, along the National Highway will keep a strict vigil and ensure the compliance of these directions.
