| Justice Mansoor is new HC Judge | | | |
Srinagar, July 6: Chief Justice, Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Justice Aftab Aalam administered oath to Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir at an impressive function as Judge of Jammu and Kashmir High Court here today.
Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir was appointed as High Court Judge by President of India Dr. A.P.J Abul Kalam on June 28, 2007. The strength of Judges of the J&K High Court, as such, now has risen to nine.
Present on the occasion were Judges of the High Court, Advocate General, Commissioner Secretary Law Department besides Judicial officers of the district Jammu, Bar Members, Advocates and staff.
Mr. Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir born on April 25, 1955 joined Judicial Service as District and Sessions Judge in May 1993 after passing the Higher Judicial Examination. He remained posted as district and Sessions Judge Anantnag, District Judge Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal, Srinagar, District and Session Judge, Budgam, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Srinagar and Principal District and Session Judge Srinagar.

Jammu, July 6: The milestone historical achievement of Jammu region by scoring well in the sate combined services is till in the limbo as authorities are completely clueless about the appointment of candidates who qualified the KAS examination through Public Service Commission.
The list of the KAS candidates in which Jammu region fared extremely well is hanging in balance even after declaration of result as a writ petition is pending in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the case in August and it is not certain which way the decision is taken as there are many glaring points before the judges from petitioners as well as from Defence.

It took almost over eighteen months to the Jammu and Kashmir government to frame rules for the state Disaster Management Authority (DMA) for responding to natural disasters after the devastating earthquake which hit the state in October 2005 with the snow tsunami freezing the state early in the same year.

SRINAGAR, JULY 6- Sri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) has described as unfortunate raking up of controversies over the annual Amarnathji pilgrimage for the past four years, saying that vested interests were circulating misleading information over the duration of the Yatra, the Holy ice Lingam and use of helicopters.
