Kargil, August 10 – Chief Minister Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad today visited Chutak hydel project on Suru river in Kargil the foundation stone of which was laid by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh last year.
Chief Minister was informed by the Chief Engineer NHPC that the work is going on in full swing on 44 MW hydel project with four turbines. He asked the construction corporation to work round the clock keeping in view the shorter working season available in Kargil.
Chief Minister was informed that work on construction of bridges and approach roads which are part of the infrastructure of the project is going on speedily. The project involves a cost of Rs 675 crore.
