Jammu, August 23: The state unit of the BJP which has been hit hard by the recent resignation of party vice president, Prof. Hari Om, from the organization in Jammu is hoping to rebound as hectic behind the scene parleys are on to persuade Prof Hari Om to review his decision to withdraw from active politics. Informed sources in state BJP unit said here today that the party high command has taken serious note of the recent developments in the state BJP unit and has entrusted state party incharge,Mr Shanta Kumar, a former Himachal Chief Minister, to visit the state’s winter capital for persuading Hari Om to withdraw his resignation. Prof. Hari Om,who has been also acting as the spokes person of the state unit of the BJP, had earlier sent his resignation letter to the party Chief,Mr Ashok Khajuria,on Tuesday in which he had announced his resignation because his academic commitment did not allow him to perform his functions as the party vice president. Srinagar | August 23 The existing surrender policy has been modified by the government following reports that recent surrender by Hizbul Mujahideen cadre were organised at the behest of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI with an aim to strengthen their cadre in Kashmir valley. Under the new instructions militants wishing to surrender have to do it before the police and they cannot lay down arms before the army men. Even if the troops, guarding the border, motivate militants to lay down their weapons the process has to be completed in presence of the police. Jammu, Aug 23: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party has decided to socially boycott Congress minister Pandit Mangat Ram Sharma for his remarks against the father of party MLA Harsh Dev Singh. Srinagar, Aug 23 The third day of assembly session witnessed walkout and boycotts by the opposition National Conference and Panthers Party, while three MLAs, including one of ruling Peoples Democratic Party, were evicted out of the House for disrupting the proceedings. Jammu | Aug 23 Crime Branch has solved a suicide case and the Crime Branch has presented charge sheet against the accused who forced her wife to commit suicide. A spokesman of Crime and Railways said here that today while patrolling on railway track between kilometer 85-86 at Meen Sarkar, CB sleuths found a body of a lady, which was run over by NDE load plying from Jammu to Pathankot. An enquiry was ordered into the matter and during the course of enquiry the body was identified as Fia Bibi wife of Lal Din resident of Meen Sarkar, Samba and was taken into the custody form postmortem.
