After 27 days, J&K Congress welcomes new entrants

Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 3: The J&K unit of Congress took as many as 27 days to accord reception and welcome to new entrants in the party. Highly placed sources in the Congress decision to accord reception to new entrants was taken following the direction of the party high command because local leaders were adopting delay tactics to formally accord reception to those who recently joined the party. The Early Times in its August 31 edition reported that the incumbent leadership of the J&K Congress appeared to be hesitating to properly accommodate them. On August 7, over 20 leaders from the Aam Admni Party (AAP) and Ghulam Nabi Azad-led Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) joined the Congress in New Delhi. Among them are four former legislators and a sitting district development council member. Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 3: Even as the Peoples Conference, President and former Minister, Sajad Lone has started a series of meetings with his cares from the home district of Kupwara, the PC dissolved its district body. “As per the directive of Provincial President, the Kupwara District body has been dissolved and all district office bearers relieved of their duties. Senior leader @bashirdar01 has been directed to make two District political units & compile a list of office bearers within 7 days,” the PC said in a statement. Bomb squad defuses powerful tiffin box explosive along Jammu-Poonch highway

Early Times Report Rajouri/Jammu, Sept 3: A major tragedy was averted with timely detection of a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district on Sunday, officials said. The IED, planted inside a tiffin box, was found lying on the roadside near a culvert by the army's road opening party at Sangpur village along the Jammu-Poonch National Highway around 4.45 am, they said. Solar mission: First earth-bound manoeuvre of Aditya L1 performed successfully

Agencies Bengaluru, Sept 3: ISRO on Sunday said it has successfully performed the first earth-bound manoeuvre of the country’s maiden solar mission, Aditya L1, from ISTRAC here. The space agency also said the satellite is healthy and operating nominally. The next manoeuvre is scheduled for September 5, 2023, around 03:00 Hrs. Northern Railways cancels over 200 trains temporarily from Sep 8 to 11

Agencies New Delhi, Sept 3: As the national capital gears up for the G20 Summit, Northern Railways has decided to cancel and divert over 200 passenger trains temporarily from September 8 to 11 here, a notification stated on Saturday. According to the schedule, over 90 trains have been cancelled on September 9. More than 100 passenger trains will be cancelled on September 10 as well.
