Rajouri, Jan 27: An Assistant Executive Engineer of Public Health Engineering in Sunderbani of district Rajouri has been working only on the directions of local Panchayat Representatives. He has been accused of issuing water tankers only on their recommendation. The lesser mortals are denied this facility, the locals said.
Sources told Early Times that the entire Sunderbani Tehsil has been facing problem of potable water forcing people to seek tankers but the aforementioned official, locals said, has been disappointing them.
Sourab Sharma, a local said that there was an urgent need of water due to a function at home and in this connection he went to PHE office and requested them to provide him a tanker. But to his dismay, he denied the facility and told in clear terms to get the recommendations of a Sarpanch or Panch.
However, he purchased a tanker full of water for Rs 2500
He said that even the Divisional Engineer's directions to the concerned officials for issuing Water Tankers were not listened.
He appealed to the Governor SP Malik to take action against erring officials by transferring and appointing a responsible official on the post.
