Damaged boundary wall threatens security of Kishtwar School

KISHTWAR, Sept 11: Students and staff members of Higher Secondary School (Boys) Kishtwar feel threaten due to damage caused to the boundary wall of the school by GREF department while executing the construction of sewerage drain on main road passing outside the school premises. Due to damaged boundary, the criminal elements enter the school premises at their own will, thus threatening the security of school.
In one such incident of hooliganism inside school premises, some unidentified persons entered the school premises through damaged portion of wall and vandalized the motorcycle of lecturer Babar Hussain of HSS (Girls) who comes to the school to attend official function.
While confirming the threat by goons and criminal element, Javed Ahmed Kichloo Principal HSS (Boys) said that nearly two years ago some 50 meters of school boundary wall got damaged due to GREF construction work. He said that despite repeated request to the concern authorities, the boundary wall did not repaired/erected by the concerned authorities. Mr. Kichloo said that a written request was also made to the Commanding Officer 118 RCC GREF Kishtwar vide letter No: HSS/B/K/10/240-41 Dated 23-11-2010 and also the reminder vide letter No: HSS/B/K/2011 Dated 25-6-2011, but said that nothing has been done so far by the top officials of GREF posted at Kishtwar. He said that due to open space, some unidentified thieves have decamped with 6 iron grills of school. He said that concerned Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar has also been intimated from time to time about the problems faced by the school authorities in maintaining the discipline inside the school premises including the attendance of students as many students gives slip through the damaged compound wall. He urged upon the GREF authorities to take immediate steps for erection of boundary walls of school premises.
When contacted Commanding Officer 118 RCC GREF Kishtwar assured that he will look into the matter at the earliest.
