| JAKFED afffairs goes foul as MD JAKFED files complaint against driver over 'log book' | | | Sumit Sharma
Jammu, Sept 13: The pot continues to be boiling as in the latest development of JAKFED employees versus Minister Cooperative Independent Charge, the present Managing Director JAKFED (Jammu and Kashmir Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Ltd), lodged complaint against Minister's driver for alleged tempering of logbook which caused loss of worth lakhs to the federation.
According to sources the small pawn driver has been identifed as Rajinder Singh who is beling charged in the MD JAKFED's complaint for tempering of logbook causing huge loss to Govt exchequer. Sources said that the complaint was lodged in Rehari Police Post for further disposal.
Meanwhile, sources with in police said that though a complaint has been received from MD JAKFED but no case has been registerd yet.However,a police team is being sent to JAKFED office tomorrow to inquire about complaint,a well placed police officer said.
Highly placed sources said that the MD JAKFED lodged complaint against driver while indicating suspicion on Auditor and a Personnel Assisant rank persons who for personnel benefit temper log book.
In the meantime, sources within JAKFED termed it conspiracy or a futile attempt to divert attention from the whole affairs as the driver was framed following a case against Minister Cooperative Independent Charge was filed by RTI activisit SK Bhalla in Accountability Commission,since then the said Minister and the department i.e. JAKFED both are in news.
The RTI activist Bhalla filed case following reports alleging that Minister Incharge Cooperative Dr Manohar Lal Sharma got a separate vehicle issued besides a cavalcade from Government side.
"JAKFED had purchased Tata Sumo Grandi No 1444/02AH for its employees in the year 2008, but the same was taken by Manohar Lal Sharma, Minister, and deployed with her teacher wife. The RTI application stated that as per official log book, the vehicle was taken out of State several times including leisure trip to Wagha Border which costs to Rs 3 lakh as fuel expense.
Meanwhile, when the vehicle was damaged, the Minister picked another vehicle from the JAKFED, and this time Bolero (JK02AR/4628) which was specially attached to his wife again and other family members. The fuel expenses of both the vehicles go to around 40 lakh from the pocket of JAKFED, which is already facing crises and is on top list of sale tax evaders.
After the issue hit the media limelight and following the JAKFED Employees Welfare Association (JEWA), who are on protest against the poor status of JAKED and then communicated to Sonia Gandhi, All India Congress President alleging that Minister is using their vehicles illegally which caused loss to the federation. They even have facimailed a copy of log book giving details to authenticate their allegations."The communication also has levelled allegations of said minister having unholy nexus with then GM JAKFED GL Abrol, they added.
However, ET in its reporting earlier when contacted to Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, MoS, Independent Charge Cooperative for his comment who said that he is authorized of having vehicle from the concerned government department. Replying to the alleged nexus between him and then GM JAKFED GL Abrol, he said that inquiry has been conducting by Div Com Jammu and Abrol has been attached. Meanwhile, sources with in JAKFED said that the Minister held the charge as chairman of JAKFED only for six moths viz 25 December 2011 to 25 June 2012, hence has not been entitled for vehicles and other expenses from JAKFED. |
