Various educational institutes celebrate NSS Day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 24: National Social Service (NSS) Unit of Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar marked the celebrations of National NSS day by organizing a cultural programme at the Institute. Besides a workshop on "Stress Management" also kicks off at the Institute with the motive of keeping the students as well professors stress free. The programme started with the traditional lighting of lamp by the former Principal of GCW, Gandhi Nagar, Professor Rita Munshi who was the chief guest on the occasion. NSS volunteers presented one after other outstanding performances including Bhangra, Dance, Poetry recitation and Skit on female literacy. Wearing colourful outfits and decked up with jewelry, the students presented mesmerizing Bhagra Dance that remained the best attraction among audiences as the participants filled the audience with a feeling of joy and merriment and received huge rounds of applauds. NSS Programme Officer, GCW Gandhi Nagar, Hans Raj speaking on the occasion briefed the history and aims of the NSS and made students to took pledge to work for the society selflessly. Besides a two day workshop on Stress Management also started in the college to make students and professors to be stress free and work efficiently without any mental or physical stress. NSS foundation day was celebrated in GGM Science College, Jammu today by organizing a seminar for NSS volunteers & fresher's by NSS Units of the college under the supervision of Dr Rajinder Singh, Programme officer. Dr Satinder Singh, Nodal Principal for Jammu Division colleges was the chief Guest on the occasion. The programme started with the welcome address by Dr Rajinder Singh, NSS Programme Officer, who emphasized on the significance of observing the NSS Foundation day and also gave a resume of all the activities undertaken by the NSS volunteers in the college. N.S.S day was celebrated by N.S.S unit of the Govt. P.G College of Education in which Principal of the College Prof. (Dr.) Kaushal Samotra was the chief guest. A small function was organized on this occasion. The program began with the oath taking ceremony. Afterwards, NSS volunteers expressed their views on the importance of NSS day. Govt. College for Women Parade NSS unit today celebrated NSS Day in the form of cultural bonanza. Dr. Hemla Aggarwal, Principal of the College was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The programme started with Saraswati Vandhana. The NSS volunteers presented a colourful cultural programme which included NSS song, Dances and Skits Dr. P.P Singh, NSS programme officer highlighted the various NSS activities and programmes to be conducted by the NSS organization. Dr. Hemla Aggarwal, Principal applauded the spirit of the volunteers and encouraged them to extend their skills to the service of the society. |
