| Militants in Rajouri- Poonch have negligible presence: DIG | | | EMROZ SURI
RAJOURI, Sept 29: To combat any sort of militants activity across the border , forces are ready and two tier as well as three tier security system is also on its place. This was stated by Deputy Inspector General of Police for Rajouri- Poonch Range Danish Rana.
He also quoted that negligible number of militants are now left in these twin border districts who are on run from security forces while we are quite close to either pressurize them to surrender or to neutralise them.
Deputy Inspector General of Police for Rajouri-Poonch Range, Danish Rana while interacting with a group of reporters here in his office said that militants activity from across the border seem on rise just ahead of snowfall period which closes routes of infiltration and security forces are all ready to tackle this rise in militants activity.
He said that as usual, ahead of snowfall winter period rise in activities of militants has been observed from across the border and heavy cover of arms from other the side has also been seen especially in Krishna Ghati sector which is just an attempt to push militants into this side. However, he asserted that two tier and three tier security system is in its place and army as well police is all set to face such rise in militants activity ahead of snowfall.
He also said that militants are trying to sneak in during these days as after some time routes of infiltration will be closed by snowfall but forces on border as well as inner areas have been sounded up keeping in view such a rise in militants activity. On the other hand DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range, Danish Rana also said that the militancy level in these twin border districts has decreased considerably adding that due to large success achieved by forces in its anti-militancy operations during past some time, militancy is negligible here. He said that only few local and few foreign militants are now left in Rajouri and Poonch who are also on run from forces and hiding themselves.
However, he added that security forces are quite close to make these remaining few militants surrender or to fully neutralize them.
He also said that Police is going to take several steps so as beef up the security and to make a strong control over the crime related activities. |
