| Police produces charge sheet against two for 'child sacrifice' | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Sept 29: In one of the bizarre and most inhuman act of killing a 4 year old boy by his father and his spiritual Guru, Rajouri Police today produced chargesheet against them in the court of Law.
As per case on the Police Station Sunderbani, on February 13, this year reliably learnt that one Raj Kumar alias Raju Baba S/o Bir Chand R/o Kuldabi, Sunderbani has buried the dead body of his son namely Shubam Sharma, (4) who died during the intervening night of 11/12-02-2012 under suspicious circumstances inside the Bhero Temple where Raju used to worship.
"On this information, Inquest Proceeding U/S 174 Cr.PC was initiated at P/S Sunderbani vide DD report No. 21 dated 13-02-2012 for ascertaining the actual cause of death. During the course of enquiry, the body of the deceased was exhumed for postmortem after obtaining orders from the District Magistrate, police said.
Case report said that during the course of investigation, it transpired that on 08/02/12 Raj Kumar alias Raju Baba went to the house of his spiritual Guru Madan Lal alias Basha S/o Sham Lal R/o Badayal Brahamana R.S. Pura, Jammu to participate in a religious ceremony (Bhandara) at his residence, where he was motivated by Madan Lal to sacrifice his son to please the deity (Bhero Devta) for attaining spiritual powers and eternal richness.
As planned, Raju Baba came back to his house at Kuldabi on 11/02/12 and on the same evening he strangulated his 4 years on Shuabm Sharma and informed his Guru Madan Lal who came from R.S.Pura and both buried the child in the temple premises during night. Police after taking custody of body of child got its postpartum and it was medical reports that revealed that the child had died of Asphyxia due to strangulation leading to cardiac arrest and thus a case FIR No. 61/2012 U/S 302/109/RPC was registered in Police Station Sunderbani on 13/08/12.
Superintendent of Police (SP)Rajouri, Mubassir Latifi said that after collecting all the material evidences, Police today charge sheeted Raj Kumar @ Raju Baba u/s 302 RPC and accused Madan Lal @ Basha S/o U/S 302/109 RPC today in the court of law for further judicial determination. |
