| Sab Chalta Hai: Contractor encroaches primary school, converts it into his apartment | | | Emroz Suri
Rajouri, Oct 16: In a bizarre incident an influential contractor allegedly has encroached Government Primary School in remote area of Kangan Wali Chau of Rajouri putting the education of students of the area aside while the immediate concerned authorities turned a blind eye to it.
As per highly placed sources within Education Department a person identified as Mushtaq Ahmed a contractor by profession has encroached nothing but a building of Govt Primary School Kangan Wali Chau in Rajouri. "The encroacher allegedly is living in the said school premises alongwith his wife and two children for the past several months and has occupied three rooms and kitchen of school, sources added.
Sources further added when the issue became a public talk, Director School Education (DSE) Jammu, deputed a team from Government Higher Secondary School Panihad headed by Principal Pardeep Sharma which went to the spot.
"To the surprise of the official team, the team got perplexed over finding no student in the said school but only private family occupying the Government Primary School Kangan Wali Chaon which has converted the school into a private apartment.
"As per the report submitted to higher concerned, the sources said, "the finding of the visiting team includes that out of four rooms of School building three had been occupied by this influential contractor who is using two rooms as his drawing room and bed room while the third room without roof was presently being used as a agricultural field. Besides this he had also occupied school kitchen, the reports added.
Team submitted finding helpless against the influential contractor the school management has taken this ‘encroachment’ not a big issue and further reportedly was managing its affairs in one room while mid day meal was also prepared in open like some classes are being held.
After visit Principal Pradeep Sharma immediately informed higher authorities of Department about this act so that some preventive measures be taken up against encroacher.
When contacted Principal of Government Higher Secondary School Pradeep Sharma confirmed the encroachment incident and said really it is surprising that a Government school is encroached by a person who later turns it into his apartment and authorities at the grass root level has utterly failed to get it vacated. He quipped perhaps the contractor has showed his claims over the school premises as he himself has built the school as a contractor.
