| Non migrant students manage fake certificates to seek admissions in professional colleges | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 20: Taking undue advantage of turmoil in Kashmir valley, hundreds of non migrant Kashmiri students have managed fake migrant certificates to seek admissions in prestigious professional colleges and universities outside the State on migrant quota. According to sources hundreds of Kashmiri youth from different parts of Valley have managed fake migrant certificates to seek the admission in professional colleges on the migrant quota. These students have got admissions in professional colleges in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and other States of the country. Despite the objections made by various college authorities against these admissions there was no let up in issuance of the fake certificates by the authorities in the State, sources said adding hundreds of the youth from Kashmir valley have not only managed the admissions on migrant quota in professional colleges but after pass out have managed to get jobs in various multinational companies in and outside of the country. Sources said granting admission on the migrant quota to non migrant students from Kashmir has generated a lot of resentment among local students of the respective States who while voicing their concern against the same have said that this way the deserving students have been made to suffer by the Government after the students with less percentage of marks on the name of migrant students managed admissions in the prestigious colleges while the local students with high marks percentage are being deprived of the same. These students have made it clear to their respective Governments that a special quota was given to migrant students as a good will gesture who suffered a lot due to turmoil but some vested elements have made a mockery of the entire process. The sources said that one student from Kashmir whose admission for PhD Course was cancelled earlier by Central University Hyderabad has later managed to get the admission again. Much to the surprise of the authorities the scholar who is not a Kashmiri migrant and whose family is putting up in Valley in connivance of some Revenue officials in J&K managed the fake migrant certificate to seek admission in PhD. Sources said that the matter has been taken up by some social activists with the Union Human Resources Development (HRD) Ministry who have also taken up the issue with Revenue Ministry of the State Government. The HRD Ministry has urged the State Government as to why the violations have been made while granting admissions under migrant quota and has stressed on action against the defaulters. |
