Jammu, Oct 31: Following miraculous escape after his official vehicle's tyre got ruptured near Marha Morh in Tikri area on Jammu-Srinagar national highway, senior Congress leader and sitting Member Parliament (MP), Doda-Udhampur Constituency, Chow-dhary Lal Singh is learnt to have raised a banner of revolt against the ruling NC-Congress coalition government.
Congress' firebrand leader known for his candid talks publicly-sometimes even against the ruling coalition, in which Congress is playing second fiddle role-MP Chowdhary Lal Singh is learnt to have conveyed his anguish over the alleged ignorant attitude of state government, to the party high command.
Sources further revealed that "in the recent past, Chowdhary Lal Singh had personally talked with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and also with his Political Advisor Devinder Singh Rana and has asked for replacement of his official vehicle as it has crossed 2 lakh kms mark. He even asked for replacement of police escort gypsies but even then the state government turned deaf ears towards the issue." "Chowdhary Lal Singh in his written communiqué to senior party leaders at New Delhi has also made a mention of three attacks on his cavalcade by the militants at separate hilly terrain of erstwhile Doda district and sought the intervention of Government of India to take up the issue with the state government and replace the existing official vehicles as early as possible," sources further added.
Sources revealed that "MP Chowdhary Lal Singh also spoke to party's stalwart and Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad and apprised him that ruling coalition is deliberately victimizing him as he had always pointed out the alleged mistakes of state government and upheld the cause of general public and Congress workers."
Pertinent to mention here that "during the visits of Ghulam Nabi Azad in Jammu region in past one year, most of the time MP Chowdhary Lal Singh has shared the dais with Azad during the public rallies and had openly criticized the functioning of NC-Congress coalition and raised the issues of rampant corruption under the present regime. During the public rally in Billawar, few months ago, Chowdhary Lal Singh not even spared chief minister over the issue of use of state owned Plane and ignoring Congress ministers."
"Recently", sources further informed, "during a function organized at Bishnah by former Minister Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak where Ghulam Nabi Azad was the chief guest, MP Chowdhary Lal Singh raised the issue of corruption and pointed out that how come no scam has surfaced among NC leaders/Ministers and why only Congress leaders are being targeted."
