Sarpanchs announce active participation in MLC polls, term

RAJOURI, Nov 16: Taking a dig at Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference (JKPC), Panchayat members from different parts of Rajouri district today termed this organisation as self-styled one and denied from any sort of boycott from upcoming Legislative Council Elections while quoted to take active part in the same.
As per details,Panches and Sarpanchs of all the developmental blocks of district Rajouri today held a meeting here in the Dak bungalow in which hundreds of panchayati representatives took part.
During this meeting after a detailed discussion, it was unanimously decided and later announced through a press conference that no boycott will be done to the upcoming elections of Legislative Council and active participation will be made in these. Presenting their views in this meeting sarpanches belonging to all the developmental blocks of district Rajouri including Kotranka, Kalakote,Darhal, Thanamandi, Manjakote, Rajouri, Doongi, Nowshera and Sunderbani said that panchayti representatives of this district will take active participation in the MLC elections and will exercise their vote with full power.
Sarpanches during this meeting also condemned lathargic approach of state government in holding the Block Development Council Elections and said that state government has so far failed to set up a three tier system and all the political parties especially both the coalation partners including Congress and National Conference are responsible for it .
Those sarpanches who were present in this meeting include Shokat Ali, Bau Ram, Abdul Khaliq, Manir Mirza, Tasaduq Khan, Raguvir Singh, Muzaffar Bhatti, Fazal Chouhan, Kewal Sharma, Ayub Khan, Sanjeev Mangu, Mian Lal Mirza, Capt. Joginder Singh, Balbir Singh, Amin Malik, Raja Akram Khan, Qayoom Mirza, Manir Hussain, Khem Raj, Naseem Choudhary, Yash Paul Sharma, Raj Kumar Sharma, Balbir Kumar, Som Raj and Pritam Lal.
