| CM's office denies Information on exam gate | | Copying scam by Peerzada's son | | early times report Jammu, Nov 16: In an interesting case of official delay tactics the office of the Chief Minister has told an RTI applicant that information pertaining to copying scam of Public Enterprise Minister Perzada Mohammad Sayeed's son is not available with them and has transferred the RTI application to State Crime Branch on November 7. As per details available with Early Time one Shahnawaz Mir from Budgam who sought information under State RTI Act few weeks back from the CM's office and asked for a copy of the report pertaining to copying scam submitted by the state Crime Branch before the Chief Minister and last week the CM's office forwarded his RTI application under letter no: CMS/RTI/14/2012 dated Nov 7, 2012 to State Crime Branch and asked the Public Information Officer of the said organisation to provide the information to the applicant. The letter reads " Since the information sought by the applicant is not available with this Secretariat, the application dated 1.11.2012 of Shahnawaz Mir received in the Secretariat on 6.11.2012 is hereby transferred to you under sub section 3 of section 6 of J&K RTI Act 2009 with the request to provide the desired information to the applicant directly under an intimation to this secretariat". "It is all delay tactics and everybody knows that Crime Branch submitted its report to CM's office within a weeks time early this year and the report is very much available with the CM's secretariat", said Shahnawaz Mir while talking to Early Times. The Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police, inquiring into the alleged use of unfair means by then Education Minister Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed's son completed its probe early this year. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had given seven days to the CB to present the report on the matter after it was exposed how the Minister's son bearing roll number 228211 copied in his class 10th examination in 2009. On Jan 30, many newspapers produced clinching evidence in terms of documents about the use of dubious means and how answer scripts of Urdu were written in two hands so as to enable the Minister's son pass the examination. Following the expose, the Chief Minister had sought an explanation from Sayeed and handed over the investigation to the Crime Branch.
