Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 30: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had termed the protestors in Srinagar, where curfew has been imposed after violent clashes, as idiots. In reply to a tweet terming Kashmir as curfew ridden place, Omar Abdullah replied back in on the twitter: " Blame the idiots who provoked the trouble. Restrictions are reactive not pro-active for any government." Omar, wary of any repeat of 2010 violent su-mmer, was though defe-nding the administrative decision to take tough me-asure to pre-empt any trouble. However, calling the protestors is not on demeaning but has the potential of further worsening the situation.' Kashmir is tense after sectarian violence. Clashes have taken between two sects after some alleged blasphemous act. These comes after sectarian violence had taken place over burning of mosques in some parts of the Valley. It's not that Omar has not done this act of insensibility before. At the start of 2010 violence he had first blamed the media for beaming out pictures of unrest and going to the extent of saying that the apart from handful of police stations the rest of the Kashmir was peaceful. However, when violence started engulfing the Kashmir, he first said a handful of protestors can't hold the Valley to ransom. But after more than 100 people died, he not only offered them job, held police recruitment rallies but said it was the worst time of his life. "He hasn't grown up politically even after 4-year in the office. He is back to tweets and is fuelling the fire, which can unsettle the relative peace," said senior NC leader, wishing not to be named. The protests in Kashmir have not gone down. The Chief Minister may be taking solace iin the fact that not many casualties have been reported but excessive force and his 'demeaning and offensive' language is not only giving leverage to the separatists but also stoking the sectarian fire. "The CM first held meeting with the expelled BJP, which was politically incorrect at this time, and now calling protestors as Idiots, is surely like to have politically fall out in the upcoming MLC election and for any possible defeat, Omar himself would have to be blamed," said the NC leader.
