| FMRAI- JKMSRA observe bandh against violation of rules by MNCs | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 4: In current scenario the takeover in pharmaceutical industry by multinationals to Indian companies endangering its' self-reliance, in a joint meeting Federation of Medical and Sales Representative's Association of India (FMRAI), all the members of Jammu Kashmir Medical and Sales Representative Association (JKMSRA) today observed one day strike and highlighted their problems. During the meeting after observing a protest the members in a joint meeting reiterated that in absence of any statutory code of marketing with punishment clause, multinational companies are resorting to unethical marketing and trading and making medicines out of reach of the common people. The representatives of Federation of Medical and Sales Representative's Association of India (FMRAI), all the members of Jammu Kashmir Medical and Sales Representative Association (JKMSRA) highlighting demands demanded from Central Government to Immediately constitute Industrial Tripartitle Committee as per the decision of 12 November, 2010; Declare statutory working Rules for sales promotion employees under SPE Act; Include 'imprisonment' as punishment for violation of SPE Act; maternity leave for women sales promotion employees; Enforce Section 2(j) ii(b) of Industrial Dispute Act declaring 'sales promotion' as an 'industry and etc. They also raised their demands and demanded from state government to ensure strict enforcement of SPE Act; Notify specific time of 8 hours work for the sales promotion employees; Declare and enforce Rs. 10,000/- as minimum wage for the sales promotion employees and to ensure legal working right of the sales promotion employees The members also sought cooperating from employers (the hiring companies) to issue appointment Letter as per Form - A, Rule - 22(1), Section 5 of SPE Act; to constitute grievance redressal forum under Industrial Dispute (Amendemnt) Act, 2010 and to stop unethical sales and marketing practices. |
