| HC seeks compliance report from GoI within 4 weeks | | Sanction to prosecute tainted officials | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 4 (JNF): In the much publicized Public Interest Litigation seeking sanction for prosecution of Senior IAS/IFS/KAS Officers against whom the State Vigilance Organization has sought sanction from the Govt of Jammu & Kashmir and Govt of India, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Mansoor Ahmed Mir and Justice Hasnain Massodi has granted four weeks time to Union of India to file compliance report in terms of the order dated August 28, 2012 read with order dated October 1, 2012 (whereby the Division Bench directed had also impleaded Secretary Environment & Forest Govt of India as necessary respondent in the petition and ASGI Mr. KK Pangotra had been asked to apprise the Court with regard to the sanction against three IFS Officers pending with Environment Ministry). Division Bench after hearing Adv SS Ahmed appearing for the PIL whereas Sr. AAG Gagan Basotra appearing for the state and ASGI KK Pangotra for the Union of India, observed that ASGI KK Pangotra stated at the bar that State-respondent has not provided the requisite information. At this stage Sr. AAG Gagan Basotra appearing for the state, stated that the bar that the requisite information has already been furnished to Union of India. Upon this Division Bench granted four weeks time to ASGI appearing for Union of India to file compliance report within four weeks. |
