| MIER college celebrates World Disable Day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 7 : To mark the World Disabled Day, the Department of B.Ed Special Education of MIER College of education organized a visit to Rotary Innerwheel Home for Mentally Retarded Children, ChanniRama, and Jammu. About twenty five students of B.EdSpl. along with HOD and faculty members paid a visit to the home for retarded children. The students and faculty members organized games & interacted with the children. Besides thateatables were also distributed among all the inmates. Sonu and Lalita senior teachers of Rotary Inner wheel Club addressed the students of B.Ed special education and said that the mentally retarded children are also a part of our society and need to be assimilated in the social fabric so that they do not get alienated. The visit was an eye opener for the students who pledged to serve this section of the society. Dr. Arun Gupta, Chairman MIER Group of Institutions and Dr. Renu Gupta, Director MIER blessed the students and appreciated the efforts of the department which always commemorates all the important days with great zeal.Dr. Adit Gupta also interacted with the students and said that we should come forward to accept and help the disabled in all the aspects of life. He said that we should try to remove the myths related to disability and have a more positive attitude towards the disabled. |
