| BJP fast loosing ground in Jammu | | Cadres disillusioned...blame it on leadership | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 7: Is BJP fast losing ground in Jammu Province….? A cursory look at the blockwise performance of party in polls held for Legislative Council seats on December 3 suggests the answer to this question in affirmative. Despite having made tall claims of sound support in favour of party, the results show very poor performance against all parties. Most shocking fact remains that the so called national party claiming to be having strong and widespread base has been pushed to far end by a regional party J&K National Panthers Party. The state unit leadership may not be remorseful for the outcome of the polls nor does it seem to bother for what party candidates feel in terms of its alleged non cooperation and lack of commitment but in aftermath of one more defeat , it is the cadres and workers of the party who are feeling disappointed and disillusioned with the approach of the leadership , particularly in handling the situation of polls. Though there is no introspection for any negative outcome that has been seen almost in series with the BJP, from candidates to workers all are blaming it lack of conviction and commitment among the leadership in following such political assignments or pursuing them with sincerity. The leadership also faltered badly in not taking some MLAs on board who wield influence in rural areas while a manging committee was formed for handling the polls. The allegation may sound baseless and weird for those who are at the helm in party. But performance speaks for itself and the blockwise figures , particularly in areas where party claims to have solid ground are simply shocking for any observer. Where has the party faltered once again , this time beaten and pushed behind by none other than the Panthers Party …..? This is the moot question which needs to be deeply introspected by the state unit it at all it has to survive even more harsher contests in coming time. But for now, it must accept and admit the faultline – lack of an honest and dedicated and a completely cohesive leadership. For the workers and supporters have been feeling need for this which they say is very important to pursue any political assignment with a sense of full responsibility and commitment. A day after the results, in all political circles, the analytical exercise amply suggests that if J&K Panthers Party candidates have managed a good number of votes in these polls, it is on account of strong, committed and dedicated leadership which has induced this feeling down among the cadres that Party has to establish itself at all levels. The message has gone deep down the hierarchy and therefore some positive results. The BJP leadership has to imbibe this message and follow it practically. Second the party has to rid itself of the oft made allegations that there are certain elements who are inclined and have soft corner towards the NC-Congress alliance and it is this factor which hampers further prospects of any good results on ground, one way or the other.
